Q: What’s some finger food you take with you to the office or pack for your kids to have a snack at school? For me it’s carrot. The finger food I like, and it is also healthy. But what I love the most about carrots is their universality. You can eat them cooked and raw; make salads, color rice if you need it yellow, prepare sauces, and bake cakes even. The scientific experiments have shown that carrots, when boiled, have an increased antioxidant effect.
This orange vegetable that is loved by adults and kids is healing when it comes to different diseases like bronchitis, cardiovascular diseases, anemia, or visual impairment.
Fresh carrot juice improves appetite, complexion and hair condition. And it also fights chronic fatigue.
However, you should control the number of carrots in your children’s daily ratio, because the excessive consumption of this bright vegetable can make their skin yellow.

How to Stew Carrots with the Peel?
The method is really easy and won’t take much time. You just need to follow a few steps to get your carrots microwaved with the peel:
- Wash the vegetables thoroughly
- Make several cuts on each carrot
- If you are extremely short of time, cut the carrots into 2-3 pieces
- Place the vegetables in a plastic bag appropriate for microwaving and make several holes with a knife
- Place in the microwave oven for 10 minutes at 800 Watt
- Don’t rush to open the bag after microwaving, letting the carrots get to readiness when the microwave oven stopped cooking
It is totally OK if you don’t have a plastic bag. You can easily do without it.
In this case, you will need to place carrots on a microwave-safe dish, just remember to make a few cuts in vegetables.
