Defrosting Pork in the Microwave Oven

For you to know it’s recommended to microwave chilled pork but don’t worry if you have it frozen.

How to defrost pork:

  • Put the pieces of pork in a big bowl and cover with the lid. This can be a special glassware for microwave oven or any other heat-resistant container that can go there
  • Set the microwave to high power and keep the pork turning for four minutes
  • Stop and take the bowl out of the microwave
  • Turn the pork upside down and microwave again for another four minutes
  • Repeat the cycle for as many times as needed, i.e. if you have a big portion of pork the defrosting method will take about 20 minutes

Now that you are done with the defrosting process, prepare your dishes and utensils to cook something really delicious and with a great aroma.

The Simplest Way of Microwaving Pork

First of all, rinse the steaks (yes, you better get your pork in steaks before microwaving) under cold running water and put on a plate or in a colander to let the extra water run.

Pour some vegetable oil in a bowl, add your favorite seasoning for meat (you may also want to prepare the seasoning yourself by mixing finely chopped dill, parsley, ground pepper, and salt).

Now is the turn of pork. Put it in the bowl and roll thoroughly in the mixture.

Let it sit for five to seven minutes to soak.

Take a microwave-safe dish and put the steaks there. Microwave it for seven minutes or less (if the pork steaks are not big) at full power.

After the microwave oven has stopped working, take the dish out and turn the pork steaks upside down.

Microwave it again for eight to ten minutes.

While the pork is being microwaved, prepare a side dish, something like a salad out of the fresh vegetables and herbs that your fridge might contain.

Cut tomatoes, cucumbers, bell pepper, and onion, mix them and season with olive oil.

As soon as the microwave oven stops, you will not be allowed to open the door for 3 to 5 minutes to let the pork steaks get to the right temperature inside the microwave.

Ready? Take them out. What a splendid aroma!

Choose one of the best sauces for your microwaved pork:
